Safety switch help

Usually you have to "jump" the wires together and this would leave the brake light on all the time. Though if you are really good at electrics, you could just jump the part of the lock-out circuit that goes to the solenoid. Not worth doing, how hard is it to put a brake on when starting?

pull the black/white wire out of the connection at the CDI box this will bypass all the safety switches you can remove the connector right out of the plug so you can plug it back in when done testing.. Make sure to put it back when you find the issue as thats a good recipe for disaster

That wire has nowt to do with the starter circuit, not on Kids Quads anyway. Yamaha seem to wire everything through the CDI but that is perversity on their part.

strange because thats the wire i used to use anytime i was trouble shooting. i would pop it out so i did not have to use any of the safety features and eliminate those on troubleshooting.. 3 different imports and all the same wire

The black/white kills the spark, yes, but the OP is on about the brake switches, which lock-out the starter circuit, and except for the aforementioned Yams I have never come across a kill wire that has anything to do with the brake switches.
