Default Help I connected the battery wrong!!

Vi ok so I was gonna help my girlfriend out. She bought a Fa-A90 for her son. We never started it, seller said needs a new battery. So we connect a new battery- but i mix the cables up !!!
i smell burnt electronics and hear a faint whizzing sound then I discover the mistake!
connect the poles the right way and hit the starter button - nothing happens. Lights, horn work fine. What do I do?? Is there a fuse box on this thing?? Is the cdi box shot?? Please give me some advise

Odd one, as the main fuse between battery and ignition switch usually blows, but yours has not as the lights are working. All you can do is trace the wiring until you find a fault, if something got hot, there will be melted plastic. You may have blown the voltage regulator, but they don't usually stop the bike, worth checking it though. If it has a DC CDI, that could have blown if ignition was on when you connected up.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah the ignition was on... I have been looking all over the web for a wiring diagram in order to find out if the CDI is AC or DC but havent found one. Do you know how to figure that out? Its a 2014 model... Yeah so I can follow the wiring thats a good idea, but if there is a component thats faulty i guess it would be hard to find, i suppose I will have to search for faults on each component, perhaps I can find info on the forum on how to search for faults on the CDI. But I have spend some time on google this morning and yet I have not found a new CDI box for this model Well I guess the first thing to do is to dismount the plastic to expose the wiring. I strated that yesterday but its hard to tell what all the components are...

I disconnected the cdi, it was sealed but it looked fine so I put it back. Didnt found any faulty wiring. Think maybe I misinterpreted the kill switch on the handle for flashers, cause when I tried with that in a different position i got it running. So it seems the quad took no damage from the faulty connection I did. Im surprised since it smelled burnt when it happend. Anyway, thanks for the advice 🙏🏻
