K&N Filtercharger
#1
Is any one runing just the K&N Filtercharger with out the jet kit or with out rejeting? I havent yet got the K&N stage 1 jet kit but I am using the K&N filtercharger and I notice a power increase. However a frend just e-mailed me and said he was talking to the machanics at where he got his Honda Rancher about the K&N Filtercharger and thay say that you must rejet or at lest change the rich/lean settings. Because the K&N breathes better you are running leaner and must compensate for it. Or you run the risk of burning valves/ top end on your motor. They also said that because they breathe better that they suck more dirt/mud/water and run the risk of engine damage. Any one have input on this?

Scotto: Was just jerking your chain buddy. Have heard many other Honda owners that run the K&N with no problem. As far as them sucking more dirt...wel I think that because they have more surface area they probably do show more dirt on the filter but they also have a smaller micron count.
Hows the BMF coming ? Can't wait to see that BAAAAAAAD machine do the "Sinkhole" @ RedTop. We'll see if a SP500 will dare to challenge during the ATVAM convention.

Ron,
The BMF is good to go, I'm going put the Outlaws back on it today. I'm going to add a stage 1 jet kit anyway & see what happens. I ajusted valves on it for the first time. After over 4000 miles thy were hardly off at all. Want to help me install a webcam? would like to do this some time before the snow falls. Anyway, you and da wife want to do the redtop again this weekend?
