no belt squeeling

ok just making sure my clutching is correct now you guys said if i put the black and pink spring in and take out a shim and put a new belt on it should make a squeel but it doesn't but i can tell when i drive it down the road the motor seems to rev up alot higher and if i hit loose gravel it almost seems to downshift or something it is weird is that normal?? the speed stays about the same but you can hear it in the motor it revs up higher or something anymore info would be good and with my old belt i couldn't get it to slip in high range going up a steep ditch very slow so i think it is about where i want it now [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] thanx everyone

Whats the deflection? Should be between 7/8" and 1". Thats whats important. If the belt has the top end knocked back , it won't squeal. This is according to my buddy that is a Kawi Tech. My belt will only slightly squeal when its in gear for over 30 seconds. Hardly audible.
When you hit gravel, and the bike is "downshifting", thats a sign your clutching is pretty close. The driven clutch is a torque feedback device. The driven is "seeing" that there are increased forces (resistance), and therefore the driven will close, causing the drive to open more. That in turn allows the rpms to come up. As the horsepower comes "back in", or the forced recede, speed either increases, or rpms will drop again (caused by your throttle finger).

thank you for the input shock that is very helpful for what you described it must feel like i am within my tighter specs and where i wanna be i havne't had it in gear for about 30 seconds so that may be why i don't hear it but i am very happy it doesn't seem to have lost much for top end and it really didn't gain anything on bottom end as well just seemed to rev the motor high which i supposed will take more fuel but that is no problem with me
