can someone tell me what is happening when you turn the key off and it sounds like something is"disengaging" by the belt cover. I hear this everytime and after about 200 miles it sounds a lot "looser" when making the sound. Is this normal?

Dont worry about that sound. It is the actuator resetting itself. Since you have the kawasaki motor and tranny, remember to use LOW gear when you are going slow, pulling, mudding, climbing, loading, etc to keep the belt from burning up and such.
