Default 400 electrical problem

Have you checked the main fuse in the fuse box under seat, it controlls juice to all the electrics

Default 400 electrical problem

There is a little clear plastic cover over the selinoid. If the fuse is good then you might also want to swap it with the selinoid from your girlfriends machine (if they are the same). Try it again. If it does not work your selinoid is good and you have a grounding problem.

I have found the wires pinched and grounded out under neath the instrument cluster on both of my machines. Wires get pinched between the plastic and metal and wear through and ground out blowingthe 30amp fuse in the selinoid.

Dielectric greae is defintly the way to go for your electrical connections.

Default 400 electrical problem

Well, I have been getting my hands dirty and tried a few things. When I put direct power from the battery to the starter it turns over. I traced the wire back to what I think is the starter relay. So, I think that is the problem and from a diagram I have, it looks like there is a fuse in there....But I am having troubles accessing it with my fat fingers. Now I am trying to remove the box that has the air filter in it. With that out of the way I should be able to get at this thing and inspect it. I will go out and buy the di-electric grease and use it. There are some connections that have green on them. And without taking the entire back fender off, I can not get in there to easily. All the screws are stripped on the air box except for 1 so now I need an extractor which I will have to buy. So needless to say I am making progress slowly... still no snow in the forcast here so should be good for another week or so. Thanks for the help guys... will post again with my findings.

Default 400 electrical problem

Oye Oye Oye
I checked all fuses.
First began with the standard
10A & 15A under the seat.
All were OK.
Then check the ground (black wire)
and finally went on the solenoid
and saw that there was a 30A fuse...
It was blown, I change it, and my
ACAT 400 is back to life
VRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMM

Thank's very much!
:-)

Well, my solenoid does not have a fuse. It is a sealed unit....but in the process of removing it I did find a broken power wire. Fixed the wire and it is up and running again. Almost ready for it to snow, just have to fix my winch now. Thanks for the Help guys!!!
