i will be getting a clutch kit for my 03 400 auto, i was just wondering which one i should get. the speedwerx is 130 bucks, but looks like it comes with alot more than the highlifter kit for 94. whats your guy's opinion?

 

I wish I could help you out. I have an 04 400 auto I am putting a clutch kit in next week. I am going to use the EPI kit. I don't know if it is good, bad, or otherwise. It costs around $95. I will post a review after I try it out.

is the epi kit your getting from highlifter? the speedwerx kits looks like it comes with the primary, the sleeves and something else for $125, whereas the hl kit comes with the primaries and secondary springs for 95, im not sure which one to get.

 

EPI is a company that makes clutch parts for many brands of atvs. You can buy them from lots of differant places including high lifter. The atv shop that i am having install the kit says they have had good luck with them. I won't have the kit installed until 8/3/07. I hope it helps and can't wait to try it out.
The picture and discription of the speedwerx chutch kit is the same for all the models they make them for. They say in the discription that all parts listed are not in every kit. It would be best to call them and find out what exactly is in the 400 kit. I think the speedwerx kit would be good and is probably the one i should have got. It's hard to know what to buy, as i can not find many reviews on them. The reviews i find are from people riding in mud with big tires. I have stock size tires( maxxis bighorn) and don't ride in lots of mud but would like a little more low end power. Hopfully this clutch kit will help me.

 

Call EPI and ask your question, I've had good luck with them on the phone. They seemed knowledgeable about what changes their product would make to the way my machine handled. I didn't order the kit, but I am very happy with the springs I replaced.
