700 Diesel

It's a work machine. There are some advantages of a diesel 700, all of them related to commercial or agricultural use.
Longer range on a tank of fuel.
Can be fueled out of the same tank as a tractor, backhoe, bulldozer.
They're powerful, but slow. That's important with young people on a crew. If you're hiring untrained teenagers to work over the summer, do you want to turn them loose on a T-Cat? You'd probably be scraping them off a tree.
I'm looking for a 2 up quad for farm use, maybe playing on weekends too. If I could find a really good deal on a D700, I might take it. Trouble is, all the really good deals right now are in MN and WI, and that's a heck of a long drive from KY.

I've had my (used) 07 AC 700 Diesel for several months now. It has 6100 miles on it and the engine is still running strong. Although I don't consider it slow (I put over 30 miles on it yesterday in a local ATV park) and never did I need any more speed. On flat land, it will top out around 45mph, but it ain't quick. I rode with a buddy that had a 07 AC 500 gasser and he could pull away, so I'd equate the acceleration to a 400 gasser. I ride trails mostly, and it's plenty quick from 0-20. I think we avg'd ~10 mph yesterday in mixed riding. It's great going up hills and on rough terrain. Torque is awesome. It has low and high range. Only on the steepest of hills did I need to switch to low and lock the diff.
If you're the type that wants to go fast and will be doing a lot of wide open riding, this probably isn't the quad for you. If you'll be using it for true utility type work and trail riding, it's a great machine.
