Default Volt Error Message

Hey Guys,

Looking for some help here. I have been looking through the site here and have not found a similar thread.

I have a 2009 ACT 500 and I am getting a "volt" message when I start my ATV after a day or two. I can get the error to go away after running it for about 20min. Just by shutting it off and starting again. I get my display back. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what was the solution. From what I have found it could be either the battery, key switch, or solenoid. Thanks for any help with this.

check the battery connections, maybey even take them off, clean and put a little grease on them when you put them back, have also seen the connections on the selenoid come loose, take cables off and check bolts under them for tightness, again clean and grease

my 700 does it as well. i put a new battery in it but still does it. My battery really was shot though, im gonna check all my connections as stated already, but i may check my voltage regulator as well. Not sure if its getting weak and not putting a complete charge on it. Id imagine its fine though.

This happened to my 07 700 EFI and it turned out to be a bad Voltage Regulator. I put a Volt Meter on the battery while the quad was running and it was spiking up to 17 Volts. The dealer told me that the "Volt" code will come on the display if your voltage is lower than 11 or higher than 15 volts. I replaced the regulator and I never seen the code again.
