2011 Honda Rancher ES shifting problem

2011 Honda Rancher ES shifting problem
I have a low hour 2 WD rancher ES that won't shift, the indicator shows 1st gear although it seems to be in neutral.
because you can roll it.
I checked all of the fuses and the battery is new with good connections. I tried the Emergency shifter with a long wrench
and it seems frozen, it didn't want to force it to move.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
