man that bites. Yeah I got it off of the internet and pretty much got screwed on it. The guy lied about it and then I was emailin him to tell him what was wrong with it and he never replied back. The nerve some people have to lie to people just to get a few more dollars.

chek the piston -to cylinder clearance before you put rings in it ,it might need a bore and new piston
dont forget the valve seals!! if they are bad it will use oil from there as well
if you dont have a valve job done atleast lapp them with valve grinding compound
to make sure your new topend is up to par
if you use old piston at least get a new wristpin and berring(for piston)
--or berring( if applicable,) depends on the machene, i cant speak for every 4 stroke ever made
seeing that im not Jesus, and don't have all that knowledge
but i don't think there all like lawn mowers lol

4 stroke engines do not use wrist pin bearings

if you wanna spend alot of money go with the top end rebuild, but if you were to tear it down before
to much damgae is done you could get away with just honing the cylinder and new rings. but your gunna
have to measure after honing for specs.

why tear a motor down that far just to reuse the old piston? look on ebay and find a cheap NOS oversize piston and rings, have the cylinder bored and install new guide seals and lap the valves but I will bet you the timing chain is worn out too so I would change it while it was apart . should run like new then

AGREED!!! You could do the honeing and reuse old piston and then a year or less down the road have to do it all over again and then buy a piston and everything. It should not cost you over 100 to do it right and have it last for YEARS!!! and not have to worry about it...
