350x clutch slipping bad?
#1
A friend has an 85 350x and the clutch slips real bad when it is first started, almost to the point of ot moving, If you pop the clutch repetedly it will start to work, then after you ride a while it starts to work, but still slips slightly when shifting. he put a new clutch kit in it and it worked good for a couple of weeks then started doing the same thing. The book shows the clutch lever(on engine) pointing towards motor, but his points to the rear of trike. he bought a new cable and it would not reach without holding the clutch open. could the lever be wrong and holding the clutch open a little bit? does anyones elses clutch lever(on engine) point to the rear? if anyone one has any ideas the help would be apreciated. thanks

The two different year 350x's have different clutch cable routing, the '85's go below the head pipes and on the right side of the cyclinder, and the pertch is parallel to say the swing arm bolt. The '86's go through the oil cooler guard, on the left side of the cyclinder, around back of the clycinder and to the pertch. The pertch on a '86 is parallel to the chain. If he can't get it fixed will he sell the trike???
