Default Electric ATV vs Gas is the Future here?

My dad ordered 2 new Electric ATVs from California for my 11 year old twin sisters. He was told they are the same as a 150cc engine. They can run 22 miles on one charge and travel up to 30 mph. Dad says this is the future of being green and these atvs are super quite which will help with the neighbors. We live next to the Land trust and Hope that they will allow this type of machine on it. Vermont is strick with there enviromental laws and dont allow motorized vehicles in the land as of now. We hope to show that we can meet in the middle.

Your 250ex is REALLY bad on gas then.

I can ride HARD for 6+ hours on a tank, and normal riding I can get 10+ hours out of it. It costs about $15 to fill mine up.

Lets see here, an electric golf cart pretty much takes up the whole bottem of the cart with batteries and is a bunch bigger than a quad. A golf cart does not even have close to a 20 mile range. But you say "so far it measures up to my honda trx250"!!!!
I would like to how???? LOL
Good luck with this deal.
Feels like I'm reading a commercial when I read your posts.

I don't know a lot about the TRX250 but I think it could do much better than 22 miles and travel up to 30 mph. How does it really measure up?

electric power can be SICK fast...... google the killacycle sometime and watch that thing go..... only problem is it can only go one pass on the quarter-mile per charge....

I think the best replacement for gas is hydrogen........ Mythbusters ran a gas car on hydrogen with no mods at all......it can be done and our internal combustion engines can survive the revolution with clean burning hydrogen......

Of course..... we all have to remember..... ATVs will be running on gas long after autos are not........ closed course competition will be gas powered long after we on this blog are all dead and gone..... but there is no harm in buying electric ATVs if that is something you want to do..........
