Default Aftermarket Frames?

I have two frames on order for the Z400, and I wanted the input from others to see what your opinions are. I ordered a Lonestar chromoly frame and an LRD aluminum frame. I get the LSR for $1800 and the LRD for $2900. My main concern is the longetivity of the LRD and what weight difference the two might have. There is quite a price difference, but I only want to buy the best, and buy it once. What do you guys think? I am swaying towards the LSR because it is proven. Thanks.

I would think the LRD would hold up cause.......well Bill Balance uses his for Cross-Country. You could try the Laegers or the Arens. I heard really good stuff about Arens but don't know if they make a chassis for the Z400 yet.
Their websites are Laegers Inc. and Arens Bros

Yeah I know but I guess they are really strong. Their parts look pretty trick also. I think they said their frames weigh like 39lbs. Is that pretty light? I don't know.

Here's the problem. My frame is broken or cracked in many places and I am constantly welding it up. The only two to offer a frame right now are Lonestar and LRD. Laeger's has a frame, but is an aluminum made by LRD. Doug Roll said that he was going to skip the Z400 frames, Mike Walsh said he may later, and John Arens is many months away. I am starting to wonder if I am screwed. Looks like the LRD will hold up, but only for a few years, and everybody seems to hate Lonestar. What to do, what to do?

The early LSR frames had their faults. But like most quality company's,they learned and fixed the problem.
My daughters LSR 250R MX frame cracked at the swingarm once. Her LSR TT frame never cracked once and prolly took more abuse than her mx frame. Not bad for being 7 pounds lighter! On one of her 2 LSR 400ex frames, the front motor mount cracked once.
The moral:: Anything breaks! Laegers have been repaired as much as any others.
LSR is a fine frame.
