Perfect conditions for ice riding! Not so much snow that you get stuck or tip over easily. Good stuff.

Yeah was pretty easy going at about 50 mph. Had to watch out for the slush though. Probably around 6 to 8 inches of slushy water.

Had a brutal winter 2 years ago where it just kept snowing every few days. Really cold too. Had an extreme thaw for a couple days and then it dipped down into the teens. Went riding out on a frozen lake the next day when it was 18. Was having lots of fun and then we broke through a 2" layer of ice that had 12" of water on top of the final, who knows how many feet, of ice. Kept taking runs at it trying to get back up on the good ice. Just ended up coating everything with ice. Finally hooked up my quad to two other quads with tow straps and with 12 wheels total pulling, I was able to get out. Lunch at a restaurant with a wood stove going was really nice that day.

Same happen to us that day. Everyone fell through the slush except a few of the bigger quads that had the clearance. We spent a lot of time pushing and pulling the machines and finally got everyone back on top and headed to a warm bar for food and drink.

One thing about getting stuck on the lake, you need a 5 mile long winch cable to get to the closest tree. LOL

Looks fun though.

Yep, glad I was riding with friends. I probably wouldn't go out on a lake or pond without someone with me for that reason. It took 2 quads daisy-chained together plus my quad to get out. Had another quad ready just in case.

Yeah I would never head out there alone. Best to bring a few buddies.
