I'm looking to buy my first quad. I'm looking for something in the 400-500 range. I don't have a ton of experience so I need something that I can feel solidly in control of (as much as possible anyway). I live in Alberta so the terrain I'll be using it on won't be incredibly extreme but it'll be a bit rough. I'll be riding in mud and snow.
Any help would be much appreicated.

Can Am 400-500 fastest in each engine size

I'd recommend the Honda Rancher 420. It's a fun, powerful, easily handling machine. Get the 4 wd model. I ride my in Newfoundland in some pretty rough places and it rides great. You can get this quad for a good price as well. My brother and girlfriend can even ride this quad and its their first time riding them. I had to teach them how to shift with the foot shift but it didn't take long to learn. I had nothing but positive experiences with this machine. I love it.
