Default I could use some help with 2005 sport quads

Hi,

I have not had an ATV since the late 80's and had a general question for those who may know this...

I am interested in ATV's 2005 and newer. I see a lot of Suzuki LTZ400's for sale in my area, as well as TRX450R's. I'm not against getting an older 2001 Raptor, or even a 2001 Banshee if the right one at the right price comes along. Does anyone know if the Honda 450R, or the Suzuki LTZ 400 are electric start? I saw in the pictures the 450R has a kick start and I'm not sure if that's a back up, or if that is how you start a 450R, or an LTZ400?

When I was 15, I could not kick start the 350X and wonder if a 450 would be hard to start with a kick starter? If anyone knows if a 2001-2006 Banshee, or Raptor is electric start, that would be helpful information too.

Thanks

'04/'05 Honda were kick only. In '06 Honda totally redesigned the engine and offered an e-start model and a kick only model. The 450R kicks over pretty easily with the stock cam. You can do it while seated if you want. They don't like any throttle though, or they can kick back and even a few cases have cracked from that.

All Z400, 400EX, and all Raptors are e-start.

All Banshees are kick, but you are only kicking 175cc of 2 stroke at any given time. I used to start mine with my hand from time to time, pretty easy when they are tuned and running well.
