buying in Canada VS US?
my number one reason for buying in Canada was because I wanted the blue Grizzly, IMO that is yamaha's fault. I wanted to spend my money over here but I wasn't about to spend another $600 on plastic and then more for the stickers. I got what I wanted and saved about $700.
I can't see a reason in the world why yamaha wouldn't sell the blue in the U.S. especially considering Yamaha is known for being "Team Blue"

free market, isnīt thatīs what the us-government want to establish in north-america?
they want canadians and mexicans to buy cheap in usa.
it has to work both ways.
donīt feel ashame when you us-citizen buy in canada.
it is your right and for the quad you buy in canada, another canadian will buy a chrysler in the staates.
you pay anyway tax and duty at home.

Lehencountry,
I think you can buy SP 700 in the US for a great price. Don't know the shipping charges/assume 1000 dollars/.
Riding in Bavarian Forest......beautiful place./I lived in Munich for a while in 82/83/
Joe
P.S. Americans like to buy in Canada mainly because the BLUE Grizzly is not available here/ I don't think the price is a decisive power behind those purchases, who'd go thru a border hassle to save a few dollars - unless you live very close /.
The Grizzlies were for sale in Highland Yamaha/Chicago metro/ for 5900 dollars in October, but not the BLUE ones, I know . Blue plastic is available for about $ 450. I always buy ATV's out of state w/o state tax.

Can you give me some website links to some ATV dealers in the Ontario area (preferably near Windsor area). There was a guy outside of Windsor who was offering Suzuki Vinson's for $5100 and he would provide the shipping to the metro detroit area with no taxes or prep fees,.... I should have taken him up on the offer. I don't know how to get a hold of this guy though, my luck.
Let me know.
Thanks
