He said both were priced about the same but he thought the Bombardier was built stronger and will take more abuse.

I had a Foreman 450ES 2002 and I just switched to a Bombardier Traxter Max (2-seater).
As far as reliability goes, I would say they are pretty much the same. I have a lot of friends driving both brands, only minor problems occurred.
As far as confort goes, the Bombardier is the clear winner. The handle bars never makes you feel that huge rock that you just hit, with the Honda, you need to have somebody snap your arm back in place. The Bombardier is wider by a few inches. The Traxter Max has 10 extra inches of wheel base. This makes a huge difference in rough terrain.
The Bombardier has the best 4x4 system available (TraxLock), in trully becomes a 4x4 whenever the front wheel start spinning.
The Bombardier goes a lot faster than a Handa (with only 50 cc more). The regular Traxter can go as fast as 60-65 mph, the Traxter Max about 50-55 Mph. With the Foreman, you are lucky when you get to 50 Mph.
The Bombardier runs on vapor, on the same ride, my Foreman always used more gas that by buddy's Traxter. On my last ride (Click HERE), I went 250 km or 150 miles with a single tank of gas (20 liters, 5 US gallons).
The Bombardier comes with a 3 year warranty, Honda is only 6 months

Rides like a Lincoln. We couldn't believe how comfortable an ATV could be.

I've had our Traxter for three years now. Absolutely NO problems. I've pulled a 10' disc. I've pulled a 8500lb Massey Furgeson Tractor....worked ok on level dirt.....started spinning all 4 tires when I hit an incline...
The only drawback is if you get into a jamb and have to lift the thing.....it's quite heavy!
I was so pleased with the Traxter that I went out and bought a DS650 last month!
