That's pretty nice of the cops to give your info to the paper and to not mention they had been caught. I'll bet those guys were out of jail the same day they were arrested. You should call the police and let them know they should screen their reports they give the papers.

How do the people in this forum protect their bikes? When the bike is outside of my 16x14' shed, I'll have my soon to purchase 04 DS tied to my standard two place trailer which I'll put a heavy duty cable/chain with a heavy duty lock. What other precautions can one take?

Insure them. Its kinda expensive ($15 per month) but if my kid rails into somebody or if his Raptor is stolen, he has insurance. Its pretty much the same coverage as my vehicles. If somebody steals my quad, I get a new one.

although, pounding the bug juice out of a thief butt naked does have its draw.....

i was just thinkin me and my dad replaced the ignition switch in his p650 in less than 1 minute,.. kinda makes u think about how easy it is to steal a quad. but we dont chain them or anything they jsut get parked in the back yard, there is a lock on the gate but u could get rid of that easy, but our dog would hear the gate opening and he would go crazy, we do have trigger locks on all the guns cept the new kimber(sweet .45) but i have a pse bow and bout 7 arrows and im sure i could scare the shiz ota some one with it. but other than that i turn off the gas and un plug the cdi, i also put it in low for added trouble.

Protecting them when out overnight duning or camping is more of my concern. I can load a quad onto a truck or trailer without the motor running dang near as fast as with the motor running.

A lady stopped by my house asking if I had seen some quads that were stolen out of her garage. I made a comment about making a home owners insurance claim. Come to find out you have to have a special binder in the policy or get a vehicle policy on the bike.
