clutch actuator

My clutch was slipping BADLY the other day, i took the cover off tonight and found out a tooth was broken off of the actuator splines and was stuck between next teeth causing clutches not to fully engage.
Could i have any other problems that could have caused this or is this a "fluke".
And does anyone know how much they cost?

What kind of clutch springs are you running?

sorry about the acutuator, that sucks, and is not common except for when people put it together wrong and mess it up on accident. when you put yours back together, remember it takes grease on the teeth, not oil.
inspect the disks - because it took only one day of slipping on one ride for mine to wear below tolerance, its the slipping that kills them hence the need for the heavy springs for clutch life.
Remvoe all the disks, stack them all up, and measure thickness of total stack. minimum tolerance is 1.083" - this is the Bomb spec. I know for fact from personal experience that a package measuring 1.083 will function and work fine, but personally if its even close to this number I'd replace the fibers with factory fibers, $8 each at dealer.
Remember that the last disk goes in its own set of notches on the basket, and not in the grooves the rest go in. This serves as a wear limit to protect the metal disks after the fibers are gone.

I already bought new fiber plates figuring mine were shot. I took mine out and measured them and they were fine, around 1.094". Plates were not warped but a little slick so i sanded them with 400 grit paper.
When i put the 40% springs in i did not grease the actuator, but i also did not wipe them off and the bike was less than a year old. Don't really know what caused the tooth to break.
Heres the good news, the actuator is only $32. The bad news is that Bombardier has them on back order, should know Tuesday how long i will have to wait. Could be cutting Silver Lake trip close, hope not.
I'm going to try some salvage yards, anybody know of any good ones to check???
One other note.....I have compared, measured, and looked all over and can't tell any difference in last friction and the rest. But on parts list it lists it as a different part # and is $5 higher than the rest. WEIRD
