It's heavy, no way getting around it. Most of the weight is because it is made so solid. They make a Ti axle but it's $1k, suposed to drop like 14lbs. It's allot easier to make more HP to deal with the weight.

there was a write up on this about a year and a half ago they shaved about 50 pounds, but it changed how the the quad handled, or it was the steering. the stock pipe is heavy so changing that, you can get a swing arm that is half the weight. they drilled holes in the shift and brake lever, they took off the heel guards. basically any thing that was steel and could be changed to lighter stuff, they tried. but for the same money you can have more horse power. it is just the nature of the beast it is built to last and that makes it heavy. i think there are guys on here with there stock chains that might be three years old.
