Default Clutch spring idea.. What do you think?

Here is my thought, I have the 60% srping now and it is noticablly harder to pull. But I got used to it and it was no big deal. My end cap on my clutch cable broke off today. It came off cleanly at the case. Now, did that come off due to fatigue caused by the springs? or was it old anyways?

Here is my thought.
What if a person was to mix 60% and 40$ springs? stagger the every other bolt so you have equal amounts of each.

Would this not result in a 50% spring? since all 60% springs are not installed it would not be a full 60% and the tention would be lower with the 40%'s in?

It still results in a stiffer clutch for us with motors yet its not as hard as the full 60%'s

i wouldn't think you would need 60% springs for trail riding. guys do that on the yamahas a lot and seem to do fine.

when i first started looking at springs, people said the 40's wernt worth it, and the 60s made a big difference, but at the cost of the stiff pull...

i have now had the 60s in for about 5-6 months and like them....BUT i did just spend 100 dollars on parts for my clutch, and im 90% sure it happened because of the added stress of the springs. (seems most people who this happens to, also have the heavy springs)

i now have maybe 10 hours on the new parts and so far so good (if i break them again i will def. be getting rid of the springs and maybe try the 40/60 mix)

it seems like it should work...right? would having half 60's make it so the clutch dosnt engage as well? (hard to explain what im thinking...) say you have all stock springs....the clutch will have pressure from EACH spring at the same rate/same time....but if you have half and half...will the initial pressure be JUST from the 60's? as they have more force (then the 40's are loose [not actually loose...but no pressure] till farther in the pull?

if anyone has any problem understanding what i just typed, feel free to ignore it all

Roost I understand what you are saying. Yes the 60's are gong to be putting the most pressure on there but the 40's will just add to it. They are all under pressure it is just that the 60's are going to do more. When I installed my 60's the firmer pull didnt bother me much. It seems that the only probs with the stiffer springs are on older years. They must have had a weaker shaft, I know the actuator is stronger on the 04's and later. Yes a 60/40 split would be much better then all stock or better then a 60/stock stagger.
