If you only trail ride on hard surface I've got to think the stock bike is probably plenty of power. Sand, altitude, steep sand hills rob a lot of power but, if that isn't your riding style keep your bike stock if it works for you.
I wouldn't worry about the carbon deposits. Would you rather have had it white in there [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
Your jetting has a number of circuits - you can be fat or lean at any of them at any given time. I think the jetting circuits are on a picture on my page.
