NOPE I DISSAGREE. IT IS NOT GOOD IN THE TRAILS OR IN THE MUD. PRICE NEEDS TO DROP A FEW THOUSAND. NOT A GOOD 4X4 AT ALL!!!

I have a Traxter, had a Honda 450ES, the Honda has very nice features, but prefer the Traxter for traction, size, ability to push/pull, water cooled, quiet and power.
However there is one small problem, the shift sometimes seems to hang, the indicator lights flash, then it jumps into next gear.
Does anyone have actual experience with one of these units?
Also anyone have experience with the synthetic oil in this model, used it in the 450ES, improved every part of it, mostly nicer shifts.

I also have a Traxter that seems to want to hang up between 1st & 2nd or 2nd back to 1st. The gear indicating lights flash and then it will shift. Usually happens when sitting still. Does not usually happen when on the move unless it is still cold. I used to use synthetic + a oil additive all the time in my old Honda TRX300 4X4 but am leary to use now in this one due to the warnings not to in the manual.

What additive? A freind that is a polaris tech told me that you can use Car oil in a quad with a manual trans but you have to add an addive that stops clutch slipage.

KSK, agree on the shifting, had mine to dealer, they recalibrated the shifting, works much better/smoother, has ordered a part to complete the fix. Have abeen riding alot in woods, find only once did the gear lights flash or act up.
Am going to try the Mobile 1 synthetic, I am getting alot of black (clutch dust) build up on the oil drain magnetic plug. wonder if anyone else is getting this buildup?
Thanks

SprintPusher, is your Traxter pretty new and could the stuff collecting on the plug just be from normal engine break-in?? I have not yet changed oil in mine yet as I have just under 100 miles on it. I was thinking about using that Castrol Syntec 10W-30 oil but will be talking to my dealer again about it before I do it. I live in northern MN so will also be using it for snow plowing. Just got the winch and plow for it today.
Good luck with yours!

KSK,
Today I had the dealer install the new solenoid (shift), it works great now, have not ridden it hard or long, but in low range is seems just perfect, like a smooth automatic in a car, just tough the button and your there quick and smooth, up or down.
Have not been able to try the high range, is dark, cold, and not going to get it up to 45 mph to test until better conditions.
Thought you would like to know.
Thanks
