Im new to owning a Quad but have ridden friends before. I bought my first today! A 2002 Traxter XT. I was wondering about the pros and cons of this machine. Also, does it hurt the machince to drive it in snow?

Hi Jake! Congrat's on the new quad! I don't know much about them but I hear they are nice. I don't think the snow is going to hurt it. But I don't see much of that stuff.
Wear a helmet and have FUN!

 

dont know much about that machine, besides you picked a good brand!!! snow wont hurt it at all, tear it up and good luck with your new machine!

Jake I own a 03 Traxter. Here is the way I see it.

Pro's- Rotax, Visco lock, step through, a trunk almost as big as a 59 impala, SUPER nice seat, gear to gear strength, 125 mile range, weight, auto or manual override shift, built like a Mac truck quality, super low center of gravity, what it can tow. (pick any quad 600cc's and under and chain them up, you will yank them backwards like they are not there.) I'm sure there is a few I'm missing.

Cons- Ride quality sucks. Like riding a tractor on an MX track, this thing will punish you. Full time four wheel drive. This can be a bad situation if you want to get a little crazy and have some fun. Oh, did I tell you the ride quality sucks? (In all fairness it can be fixed with a suspension kit.)

The only time you will hurt it when you ride it in the snow is when you get it stuck!!! Your back will hurt for days trying to lift and pull that thing out!!!!
