FIRST OF ALL I WAS TALKIN ABOUT THE 2001 CATS...NOT THE 2000 MODELS. THE 2001 HAVE MORE POWER CAUSE OF THEIR ACCELERATER (SPELL) PUMP. I DONT KNOW WHAT KINDA CARB THE 2000s HAD. AND ALSO THE 2001 MODLES HAVE A REDISIGNED REAR DIFF AND THE FRONT END LOCKS. AND THE THING ABOUT THE GRIZZ...I DONT KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE ON THE SPEEDS..ALL I KNOW IS THAT MY GRIZZ WAS VERY WELL BROKEN IN (I PUT APP. 4,725 MILES BEFORE I TRADED IT IN) AND I WAS HITTIN 68 ON THE SPEEDO (AND PASSIN CARS). I AM ALSO NAILIN 60 ON MY CAT CAYSE IT IS FULLY BROKEN IN, IT HAS THE ACCELERATER PUMP, AND I ALSO TOOK THE SLACK OUT OF MY THROTTLE CABLE WHICH GAVE ME A FEW MORE MPH.

AND ALSO...IM TALKIN ABOUT THE REGULAR TRAXTER..NOT THE SOUPED (SPELL) UP VERSION (TRAXTER XT). KNOW U PUT THESE TO QUADS TOGETHER....AND THE GUARADNTEE THAT THE 2001 CATS WILL KILL THE REGULAR TRAXTER (NOT THE XT).

I THINK DIRT WHEELS DID A TEST ON THE 01 CAT AND XT...AND THY WERE DEAD EVEN IN THE MUD AND THE CAT HAD MORE POWER!!

IF BONER READS THIS HE CAN PROLLY POST THE LINK TO THE TEST (OR IF ANYONE ELSE KNOWS THE LINK...THEY CAN POST IT)AND GIVE HIS OPINION.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS

I own a 500 man A.C 2001 and it will out pull a XT or a regular trax.I know this because I did it in a sled pull.My A.C does have 589 titans on it.I also beat a 600 gris,500 sport,and 400 explorer.

Okay what are you guys out there smoking, because how could an AC out pull a XT, first the XT has a locking front diff, second it weighs more and third it has more power. The 500 AC is a powerful bike but WO. I've seen a bombardier XT walk out of the lot with the sled, and the 500 AC got stopped by the sled. And just incase I checked on what someone else said about the 2001 AC 500 having a locking front diff, it does not according to some owners. It is a limited slip diff. look at the AC forum.
Now for the GRIZZ, well I entered it and it was in the top 5, mind you they had to add 220lbs onto me to equal the XT. Now I also am running 2ply stock crap so give me some titan's or black waters and i'll rip you's all apart. HA.
2000 Grizz
3500 km's and not a hickup.

LMAO....im sorry but grizzly suck *** when it comes to power. (i owned one...i should know) and about the AC with the lockin differential...my front end DOES lock with stock tires...but when i threw the 28 outlaws on it...it went to a limited slip. So it DOESNT exactly LOCK when i throw huge tires on it but it DOES with my stockers.

Hey Yam...read the article about the 01 cat vs the XT. The 01 cat HAS MORE POWER!! know if that huge XT would loose some weight..it MIGHT compete with the cat.

A few people in here need to cool it down alittle.

Anyway, here is that shoot out, between the Arctic Cat 500 and Traxter XT, that everyone has been talking about.

As far as what I think, I think the Traxter might be a better heavy hauler(stiff suspension and "walk threw" frame), with the Arctic Cat 500 being the trailer puller (much stouter trailer hitch).

Overall, I think the Arctic Cat is beter all around. It has a better ride that will fatigue the rider less, and a much softer seat. But the Traxter does have much less heat radiated onto the rider and the ease of not haveing to throw your leg over it to get on.

The Ac500 also has the advantage of haveing a 2wd option.

Traction wise, I would give it to the AC because of the rear suspensions on each model. What does that have to do with it?? Well put it this way, what good is pulling all 4 tires-- if only 3 of them are on the ground?? The Traxter has been proven to lock up and pull all 4 tires, so has the cat. But the Traxter has a swing arm rear suspension that doesn't allow it to conform to the terain it's on like the Arctic Cat does.

Anyway, thats just my opinion.
