the rod comes with both ends, my dealer sold the package to me for $80, not sure why the price variance.
I don't know why they don't sell the rod by itself, I think the integrity of the ends has to be in question, if the rod bent being as strong as they are, the ends may also be on the verge of failure too at that point.
anything aftermarket with both ends included costs just as much.

 

I remember see some on ebay a while back I think they were like $50.00 for the pair.
