The pro's of a twist throttle is that is saves your thumb. The con's of a twist throttle is that it might get a little tricky if the bike ever pops a wheelie and your trying to hold on for dear life,

I have one on my DS.

You can fully grip your handlebars and your thumb doesn't get tired.

Most ALL motorcycles have twist throttles.

I prefer the twist after years of riding dirt bikes and street bikes it feels natural to me, I am a little more comfortable with it.

One of the first mods I did to my DS. Being a bike rider for many years it just came natural to me to use a twist instead of the thumb throttle. Just make sure you leave a little play in it or it can get really sensetive in rough riding.

i rode and raced motocross for 8 years and i got my ds with a twist throttle and changed it back to thumb...haveg such a big machine between your legs with a twist felt weird to me but you could hold on aot better...if u like doing wheelies its something that will take you a while to get use to

It does save your thumb but like choose said look and our profile and you can see what happens when you hold on for dear life. It sucks. since than I am a little scared to get a twist throttle but my hubby still has his twist throttle on his DS and he like others grew up on dirt bikes and loves it.
