Bombardier owners...an elite group
#31
I know that folks would probably feel a liitle strange if others were to say anything regarding being "elite"...i know I would. Just remeber it's really not about us...but the bikes. They are different...and I have found that they are superior to what is out there, BIG TIME. What makes us a "special" group, if you please, is that we have not gone the way of the big 5...Polaris, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki...Bombardier is still largely unknown by many...but they have captured the imagination of the industry. We found out.......first. I am a late bloomer...i am just glad I'm here!

V2Rider...Your comments seem out of place on this thread. Pulling a DS 650 out of a hole on this thread seems like flame baiting. I know...i have been there. What you need to do is get yourself down to a Bomb dealer and get one of there bikes and become a................................................. .................................................. ...believer.
The longer you put it off....the more of an apology you are going to owe to the rest of us! Trust me...I've been there....and I aint goin back.

V2 willingly recanted his slanderous insinuations by admitting the DS got stuck as a result of rider error and the fact that brand had nothing to do with it. He also said some complimentary things about the DS in his attempt to argue with me.

I know everyone is going to jump on me here, seeing as I mostly ride yammy's, but what the heck is this whole notion of owning a bomb, and being part of an "elite group". Everyone loves their bike or quad as much as the next, so I guess every owner of any bike could consider themselves as part of an elite group. So what is so special about being part of and elitist group, when everyone might consider themselves as part of an elite group? Some of you guys are right about the bomb forum being a more mature group, this is why I've only been interested enough to post on the bomb threads.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing bad to say about bombs, but its a pretty clear fact that a person has to spend a whole lot more money on their DS to make it as fast or faster then a metric sport quad (YFZ, R, LTZ, Raptor), not to say many of you DS owners haven't already achieved this. I absolutely dislike threads about my bike is faster than yours, or one brand name is better than others, or name calling...... these threads can usually be found readily on the metric threads, so lets keep the bomb forum content on the more informative side or entertaining riding experiences.(I guess pulling a DS out of a mud whole could be entertaining)

Yfzfryguy,
I don’t know if I would consider any group better than anybody else. I will say that I am more comfortable in the bombardier group than anybody elses, so I would say its better for me. Some might consider that elite – for the fact that it more matches their personality.
As far as your comment that you don’t like other threads that say that my quad is better than yours – I agree.
For your information, I own a 400EX, and this forum is where I plant myself.

It is interesting to see the amount of non-BRP owners that read and post in this forum. I wonder, is it envy or jealousy? Especially when they try to 'bait' or insult those of us BRP quad owners who frequent this forum.
I don't go into the 'other' forums and 'bait' them. Do other BRP owners go into the the other quad manufacturer forums and try to 'bait' them? Is this why we get so many of 'them' coming here?
Anyway, being a BRP quad owner is being in a special group. I've owned quads for 20 years, mostly Yamaha Banshees, and it seemed that everyone had a Banshee and there was no "closeness" of the owners. Now I own a BRP DS650 Baja X for the dunes and when I'm stopped at a hill, it seems other DS650s will stop nearby and the riders will say hi. This is the same experiences I have when I ride my Outlander too.
Maybe BRP riders are a little older and more mature, maybe we have a little more pride in ownership of our quads as we have realized we have purchased a unique quad from a company that tends to be inovative and a leader in production quad design.
I do not know of any ATV brand that does not have faults or weeknesses. Everybody knows that BRP quads cost a little more and the fit & finish is not quite as good as a Japanese quad. The Polaris has reputation for breaking down often and little gas tanks, or that Artic Cat have a tendency to fall over sideways due to their high center of gravity, or that Honda needs to start making quads for the 21st century and add a low range and lockers, or Kawasaki should think about rear IRS, or Suzuki probably should tune their King Quad engine a little to produce reasonable power for a 700, or Yamaha needs a bigger engine.
My point is, ALL quad owners are in an elite group and need to stick together to enjoy our sport and to protect our riding rights.

I want at least one of every model ATV and RUV.. Would be nice to have 1 stock and one modified. so comparrisons can be done readily
YA HEAR THAT.. any manufacturer that wants to give OFC 2 of each of there models and fund him to modify them in stages.. he will in Turn write informative detailed reviews wich provide truley "unbiased" information

I base my distaste for vehicles and things made in Mexico by the fact that I have owned several Nissan vehicles. Two were made in the Aquascalientes Mexico production facility and the others were made in the Smyrna, Tennessee plant. The two assembled in Mexico had head gasket failure, shoddy interior fit and finish, thin and easily chipped paint, etc. I have bought Nissans all my life and when they started building them in Mexico, their quality went down hill. At least they make all their Altimas and Pickups in Tennessee.
The point is that I think it is a bad thing when companies go to Mexico to have things made. I realize they all do it, but I would rather have something at least assembled in the U.S. using Japanese parts.
Only time will tell if Bomb's quality suffers after moving their assembly operation to Mexico.
Oh yeah, I am so pissed off. Kawasaki has kept all their quads the same for 07 with the exception of new colors. Kawi will fade fast if they do not unleash an 800 EFI model of some sort.
