How big of BLANG was it? Does the motor turn over when you try to push start it? if the motor turns over freely and you have no spark? take the case cover off the magnito side of the motor, the side with the rear brake lever . check the flywheel to see if it came lose or broke and look at the gears in there for damage[img]i/expressions/brokenheart.gif[/img]

I had something like this happen to me about 2yrs ago, same thing it would shut off for no reason. Except I had installed a Procomm cdi, big mistake, it took out my rectifier and would shut off just like you explain. The other thing to check is the fuses under the seat, if they are blown you will not get anything, no dash lights or anything.

How about checking thre hot wire going to the handle bar swiches. If you have no lights or starter but ths tach sounds like it wants to work. Does the switch for the lights and starter share a wire or fuse? Just a thought.

GROUND STRAP............ ATTACH A SET OF JUMPER CABLES TO THE GROUND ON BATTERY THEN THE OTHER SIDE TO THE ENGINE MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD CONNECTION.IF THIS TEMPRARILY SOLVES THE PROBLEM CLEAN ALL YOUR GROUNDS INCLUDING THE SUBFRAME TO MAINFRAME CONNECTION.GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND...

GROUND CIRCUTE MUST INCLUDE STARTER TO ENGINE
ENGINE TO MAINFRAME
MAINFRAME TO SUB FRAME
SUBFRAME TO BATTERY

ALL FOUR OF THESE GROUND CIRCUTES ARE IMPROTANT FOR THE DS TO RUN AND WORK PROPERLY.IF ANY FAILS IT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE STARTER,CDI,RECTIFIER REG,STATOR.
