I have spend a zillions hours researching an ATV for my 7 year old for Christmas. I thought I had the perfect ATV. The DS70 has all the features that I want, great price and a known manufacturer. The only problem is size.
The spec on the Internet makes it look like this is a big ATV. Can someone please let me know if there is any chance my 7 year old who had never ridden an ATV before could fit on a DS70. Is there the ability to adjust the ATV so a little kid will fit.
Thanks so much for any help. It is very, very appreciated.

I hope this helps you... I bought my son a Polaris Predator 90 last Spring when he was 5. He is now 6 and of course has grown since then. He is now 49" tall and weighs about 50 pounds. It was just a hair too big for him when we first got it, but we adusted the throttle screw in and he rode fine. He is very aggressive now and rides it great. It fits him well. I am thinking of getting him the new ds 90X next spring as we have done some mods to the Predator, but I don't like the fact that it is a 2 stroke. So, I would assume the Predator 90 and ds 70 are relatively close in size. You can compare them online I am sure. Hope this helps and good luck.

I had my 6 year old in the shop 2 days ago to see if he fit on the DS 70. He is 46 inches tall and fit on it perfectly. You will have no problems. It appears to be a nice quad, but I cannot find any info from anyone who owns one to see if they like it. I am going from a 50 to this or a 90. My kids are bored on their 50's and I don't want that 70 to be too slow also. Good luck. The Polaris 90 Outlaw is a little big for my son so you know. He could ride it though, if I got it for him, and grow into it in about a year.

Why not just go all the way to a ds90x? it sure is the nicest 90 i have seen coming from the big 4 + can, ac, and po. Im just wondering how fast they go. Some 90s have a thick washer inside the tranny to keep it from extending all the way to go faster. They probably also have a throttle screw on them- my ds250 does, and i can screw it in so far that it will top out at >5mph.
I dont think you should be worried about not fitting on a ds70 because they just dont go fast enough to be dangerous. A 6 y/o can mine safely with the throttle screw screwed in until it will only hit about my running top speed.

Well I purchased the DS70 this week-end. Won't be picking it up until 12/24. But after I get it I will report back my thoughts. Thanks to everyone here for the help. Reasons I purchased:
1) Was really getting difficult to find a kids ATV in St. Louis area.
2) Named brand. I do know it is really made by a Taiwan company
3) Reverse and light
4) Price

Unless i am really mistaken, the youth can-am quads use SYM engines- which are good if you ask me. I would put them a little above/ahead of kymco.

Get him the 90. You'll be upgrading to it in a year or two anyways. Besides, in factory stance it extremely slow. So when he's ready to go faster you can upgrade the parts with performance parts unlike the 70. I have the DS90x for my son and am very happy with it......after the mods;^)
