what year ds650s had longer swingarms ??
i have an 06 with a shorter swingarm and i know some of the older ds models had longer arms by i think 2 inches . i was thinking either find an old arm or by a new one to help with traction issues when racing . now a plus 2 new one would equal the older arm length and a plus 4 would be 2 inches longer than older one....correct ??
btw i ride more trails then race but i hate losing !!! would either hurt my trail riding ??

04 is when they made the change to the short/lighter aluminum swingarm. When companies advertise +2, +4, etc that is based off of the longer pre-04 models. So if you order a +4 winger it is going to be more like 5.5" longer than what you have now. For strictly trail riding I would look to a +2 to +3. In your case that is going to be more like +3 to +4 over what you have now. Dont forget your also going to need new chain, longer brake cable, and a few other parts to make it all work
Also play around with the preload on your shocks as it can help greatly with keeping the front end down when using the stock swingarm. Launching in 2nd gear also helps...
