Default backfire...

jetting a carb is totally throttle position dependant. If you have a problem at closed throttle then thats where your problem is. Leave your needle & main alone.

Valve adjustment will not cause problems. (if there loose- they're noisy, if there tight- you'll eventually burn your valves, dry your seals, burn oil, & be hard to start or idle, have low compression)

Muffled pops in the exhaust is too rich of a pilot jet. Drop down 1 size, test and possibly drop another size.

(A loud pop in the exhaust is way too rich. A loud pop from the intake is too lean.)

I love towards the end when he says he has 42000 miles on that bike. Thats Awesome, it says a lot about these great Rotax motors.
