New With ds problems
#11
well i was goin to order up some shims to do my valve adjustment and i think i ran into a big problem but maybe someone here can help. Because my intake is too big of a shim i cant measure where it curently stands, all i know is that its a 2.40 and thats to big. the problem is the smallest i can find in the kits availible is a 2.30. My question is where can i find smaller or a better kit and save myself from having to take my head off again and worst case having to put new valve seats in? and are steel head gaskets reuseable b/c ive never belived in reuseing any gasket but someone told me steel is fine to reuse. if it is then maybe i should pull my head and try to clean my valve.

i wouldnt try reusing a head gasket. as far as shims either contact alba , they are cheap , or some kawasaki 's and yamaha's use the same shim's klr 650, i think, also bmw car 's use the same shim , i think they go down to atleast 2.20, maybe smaller
, alba action has a nice fisc " alba action sports' can-am parts finder"

Before i got all sparky on the timing i would go back and do a compression test and leak down test.this problem is common on the 2000's it takes forever to start but runs alright once you get it stated cracked ring's !!! go back farther and there are threads on this.
