with all due respect to the elders maybe the attendance #'s would pick back up if there was a little more flexability in the scheduling?
I dig the location though - I live in Indiana man, and come to either Utah or Idaho every year for the past decade 1,800 miles one way.

saw maiden live a few weeks ago Ace - Final Frontier - got it yet?

Yeah, I brought it up a few years ago about maybe changing the dates and being able to rotate it between Utah, Idaho, Glamis, and Dumont, with maybe Sand Mountain thrown in for the old schoolers but it was shot down because it had to be on Labor Day. I think kids in school was the reasoning.
It's been pretty much the same group of four or five since Idaho three years ago, with last year only two of us in the DS camp. I'm down pretty much with whatever the majority decides, nobody has deemed me the chief of this gig! Whenever and wherever is good with me as long as Sand Mountain is not involved. That's for the Hillshooters R' Us crowd. You should swing on down to Glamis since you're driving as far as you are. You would just have to adjust the timeframe.

I caught Maiden out here in San Bernardino back in June. 60,000+ at the show. Dream Theater shredded the joint but Maiden's setlist was just phenomenal. A hardcore fans dream to hear some of the newer and obscure tunes we've always wanted to hear live. We've all seen and heard the hits and radio friendly tunes a million times, it was nice for them to throw a tour for the true Maiden fans.

Hum, who are the elders? and how can we talk to these wise men to changing the rules every now, and then.

I probably can't get the Elders to show up, but it would be nice though, but I can still bring my friends, and there friends, and so on to one of my mini ds days. Not to cause any problem, or disrespect to the "so called elders", but I don't follow rules to a tee especially since I never seen these rules.

If there are anyone in the high desert area's with ds650,

and up to through the Big bear area with ds650,

down to the beaches in So.Cal with ds650.

If you would like to put togeather a DS day on our side of the mountains of California lets do it.
Where not bound by rules when it comes down to hour exspensive toys that we have put so much money into, and not beable to "Show them Off",

Because I know for a fact there are a few guys that took there bikes to R.I.S. and really had them pimped out. There DS650 was redone from a complete frame powder coating to painting the plastic's to chroming the motors, and to having the seats look like base ball designs.

I've heard that they have spent upwards to $12000 to $18000 into them, And in-order to see them we would probley have to have a ds-day out here.

Others have done the same, and if we get togeather we can find out what, where, how, and even the infomus question why?

I put alot of money into my DS730 It's only a 2000 ds650 that I upgraded to a 2005 Baja X. I brought it use from a old fireman for $2500, and Everytime my girl Wins money from the casino I would put more money into it. My story's will a maze you, and My friend puts togeather some of the biggest BBQ's,

If any one wants too we can have a Bike Flash Day at a Sports Bar called "Stingers" in SanBernadino near Chaparral Motorsport. I probabley could get those guys to trailer there bikes down too.

It doesn't just have to be DS's it could be anyone with a well put togeather Offroad Bike. Come on fellas the riding sesons here, and before we take it to dirt we can show them off, and have a beer while we tell a story. Possibley go to Chaparrals before we go out riding this seson.

If I can get atleast 15 plus people to come, I can bring atleast 4 to 7 of my friends. Hit me up and if enough people do I will start put flyers out. bring your camera's to have a Good Times.

If you look in my site I have a glimps of one of those DS from R.I.S. designs.

I'm probly gonna get blasted for this but here goes, the reason for Labor day is the time off for the kids.....since most of us go with our families Labor day works well for school /work reasons. But hey if you can get your buds together and make another one go for it!! Us on the other hand wont be goin to So.Cal until Christmas time to Dumont....

I get it man, but kids are off for a whole 3 months is all I'm sayin.
I know it gets hot in the desert but early june in Utah aint bad at all and its never really bad in Idaho. So Cal, well that's another story...
But as far as the official DS Days goes I can totally dig the handful that have been to them all for like 8 or 9 years running surely should have the most say, I can respect.

My suggestion of late september would not work for kids at all I see that, only reason we have our next year trip planned for september is to not have snow at 12K', and its late september just because of me and my buds work schedules for that month wouldnt jive for earlier that month.

And thats my other problem,we dont go without the kids very much, in fact we have went ONCE to Utah without them. And i can count on on hand how many times I have been riding without them. But hey if you guys wanna change it we will see when and where and decide from there.

The biggest thing with takin me and my family is ALL of us enjoy riding, wether its me and the boys in the Rhino or just me and the wife out. Hell we usually take the kids on rides and have bypassed goin on a big ride so thy can get there fill!!!

What I'm saying is keep the ds days if that what your use too thats cool,
but lets have a day In town where we can load up our trailers, or trucks,
and tow our toys to a community park, or a sports bar. Much like what
the street bike, and or Harley Davidson rider do, so that we can drewl
over our kind of bikes. A well put togeather ds650, or anyother Offroad
bike. And marvel over what kinda of craftmenship has been put into a bike
that looks like mine, and yours. have a show and tell all day. So we can
find out little secrets, and or sale used stuff, or what ever. Wouldn't you
guys want to see what out there, and what good deals, and find out other
good ideas are out there for the ds's, AND OTHER OFFROAD TOYS? Lets
have some fun with that kind of day.

I bet we can have a bigger turn out then what been going on DS day! and
you never know we may meet a group of guys and can all chip in, and go
out there to ds day togeather, just by meeting eachother on DS show and
tell day.

It's awsome when people come up to my bike and take a few second, and look over my bike, and in just 2 minutes can tell me everything I put into it. Thats impressive to me, and by the way

R.I.S. designs said they can completely Powder coat my intire bike for $600. That includes complete break down from the rims two tone, the frame, Aarms, swing arms, Chrome the engine covers, exhaust pipes, and exhaust. steering steem, and Bars. making it a complete show peace.

I'm not planing on doing it untill I get new +1+1 a-arms, and a +4 swing arm with ASV. thats when I will be complete, but there are people that are all the way completed, and I would like to talk to them, and ask lots, and lots of question, thats what DS show, and tell day should be all about.

Well I got 12 ds650 that would like to have a show, and tell day, also 4 Banshee's hit me up. One is from a mechanic from Trinity racing, 3 YFZ 450's, and two LTR 450 they have all have put in a little work into there bikes, and would like to show an tell what they have done, and where to get the parts. Most of all have a few drinks, and share some good stories. Anyone is welcome, just give me a little time, and I will put something togeather. I will deffinitly post a where, and when, alone with flyers, But first thing first. Some of us are going to Lake El Merage this weekend. I Know it's a last minute thing, but I hope to see some Desert boyz up there. They know who I'm talking about they have about 6 DS650 or more in there crew. Dry Flat Bed racing on that 5 mile long, and 3 mile wide Lake Bed well be fun. "Good luck Fellas"
