I noticed alot of chat about Yamoto's on this forum so I copied my question from the Kid Quads forum to this one in hopes that someone can help. I did not purchase our atv from Raceway, but have noticed a few posts about the same problem we are having. Without searching through post after post, I will post the question myself. Here it goes.
We are new to the 4-wheeler thing and are already having a problem with our son's new Yamoto/Patriot 90cc. ~~When you first start it and take off, you are o.k.
~~After running it for a while and try to idle it, it shuts off.
~~If you can get it started again and try to hit the throttle, it cuts off.
~~If you let it sit and cool off, it will usually start back up and take off again.
We bought it a couple of months ago and stored it in a closed garage until Christmas starting it and letting it run at least once a week with no problems. It also smokes really bad, which I am thinking maybe is because of it being a 2 cycle mix. Also, has anyone even ever heard of a 90cc Yamoto/Patriot??? We bought it locally from a guy who puts them together and sells them from home, but there seems to be NO information about this atv on the net. 70's and 110's are the closest I can find. Thanks for all your help in advance. Christmas hasn't been fully exciting with this problem, but hopefully we can fix it!!!
A few additional questions, if I am hearing the info from the seller correctly.......this atv is a 2-stroke? Takes 2 cycle oil that mixes itself with the gas?
Also while I am mentioning problems. We are having a problem getting my husbands brand new Kazuma Falcon started. Whines but won't start. Charged battery, horn works, lights work just can't get it to start.
The only one that seems to be working properly is our 4 year olds new Kazuma 50, but he would rather play with his Leapster, go figure!!
