Removing JM250 Chain
#11
Well i had a 14/42 stock and i do a lot of hill climbing cause there is a lot of soft dirt here in TX. I mounted it yesterday so to late on going to other gears before i cut the chain. Check out the pics i posted last night. I didnt have to really mess up the chain the pins i just punched out and i probably can put them back if i want to make longer but not sure. I did notice that the Jet pulled fine but Does the chain have to have an even number of links. I had a 132 and now its 113 but if i let go of gas when running the chain seems to whip and make strange noise but if i press the clutch it stops. Not sure if i need to remove one more link??????

Yeah outofline, i did take it out about 2 or 3 weeks ago to the same spot i always go. Let me tell you i did get a bit of lower torque that i wanted and i did like it. In the rocky terrain this thing can climb some mighty tough and steep hills. I went on this steep steep hill and thought i was going to flip cause it had a lot of power. But then i took it to the sandy terrain and it did better than before and i got higher on the hill than i did with the other sprocket but im still debating weather to buy paddles for his Chinese bike? but it really gives more power. Im going to ask a buddy to check the bike over and see if he can tune it up better since he knows more than i do. Im also looking for a 30mm Mukuni carb to add to get some more horsepower so that it opens up the engine.

I have ridden a 150 and a 200 with paddles at Pismo Dunes. 150 struggled a little. 200 had no problems. Both of these were '06 models. 250 should be fine with your lower gearing. Im running 15/40 on my '07 250. Stock was 17/40.

Hey MWQ, good to hear from you. I have been asking around this site to see if anyone has put paddles for these but no response. Currently i have a 12/42 and it does pretty good i think but ive never taken the bike out to red sands. Thats what the place is called here. Are the tire that come stock mainly for rocky terrain?
