Problem with my 250 Atomik
#1
I came back from a ride when I noticed petrol coming of a small black tube thats attached to the carby. This tube looks like it didnt go anywhere besides this spot on the carby as well. Anyway I put it on this small nipple and tryed to start it, turned on the fuel and heaps of petrol started to leak out from the air cleaner.
I ended up starting it and it sounded like it was flooded really bad so I turned it off and tryed to start it again but the same thing happened, it was puffing black smoke out and reving like it was flooded bad. \
Anyone have any ideas? need a pic to see what im talking about?

That hose leaking fuel is the overflow hose. Fuel leaking out of this hose means the float needle valve isn't shutting off the fuel when the carburetor bowl fills up. This is a very common problem. Usually it is caused by grit lodged in the needle valve.
You need to take off the carburetor and clean the needle valve. Go to YouTube and search for videos on motorcycle carburetors. There are lots of them to learn from.
Also check your engine oil to make sure it hasn't been contaminated with gasoline. If you had fuel leaking out the air cleaner then it may also have run down into the cylinder and past the rings. Smell the dipstick for a gasoline odor.
Do you have a fuel filter installed between the tank and the carburetor? If not you should add one. Otherwise any grit in the tank will cause this to happen again.

Id think there should be a tube for each of them..
The brass fitting is one of your float bowl vents...Youve either got a bit of crud in your needle/seat or your float needs to be adjusted..
