Default Tao tao starter clutch drive

Hi guys, new here. I take care of a tao tao 250 for a girls softball league. Having starter troubles, spins but nothing from the engine. Cover is off 3 Allen's and bolt in the middle is out and the round magnetic piece won't budge. Am I missing something ? Any Input would be appreciated, thanks.

You need a flywheel puller or a 16mm bolt with a 1.5mm thread pitch to pop it off assuming it's the CG type engine.

BTW the Honda tool number that should work is "Flywheel puller
07733-0020001" but the bolt works just as well. It just screws into the threads in the flywheel and pushes against the end of the crankshaft.

It's going to be tough to get the flywheel off without damaging it now that the threads are gone. Not much to grab on to with a 3 jaw puller and the flywheel and starter gear can be easily damaged by the puller. I've pulled many flywheels and have never damaged the threads. Was the bolt the correct size?

If you don't already have a service manual you can download a manual for a late model Honda CG125. The engines are nearly identical.

I'm fairly sure the magnets are stuck on with glue, if you heat the flywheel, the glue will degrade and the magnets drop off.

Finally got it to break loose. Made puller out . Of channel and a plate with a nut welded to the center to use in place off the pulled out threads. Had to heat it.was stubborn .let it sit with pressure for a few, gave it couple light taps with small hammer, it flew off. Thanks for the replies, not out of the woods yet. Haha.

Default Starter clutch

Ok... put it all back together and getting a high pitched grinding noise in the starter area. I'm suspicious of the intermediate gear or I have the wrong clutch. It came clutch and gear together..clutch part looked a bit different but measurements were right. Any ideas?
