Default komoto stalling problems

I just pick up a 2007 komoto 150 atv and the only problem with it is stalls when putting in to gear and when coming to a compete stop example if you put it into neural starts right up the moment you put it into drive it stalls but if you give it gas while putting it into gear, so slam it in it will take off and run the way it should and will only shut off when coming to complete stop than youll have to do it again to get going again what could that be???? im thinking it could be a clutch but im no atv mechanic but can wrench on a car/truck all day long

any advice

What is the idle like? have you tried turning the idle up a hair.. it may just need a 1/8th turn or so to bring the rpm up just enough to keep it running

Some idea of what type of transmission you have would help. I have never heard of a komoto 150 atv, so would think it is a rare bike. "Semi autos" have a centrifugal clutch, like many lawnmowers, and a conventional motorcycle multiplate one. The centrifugal takes up the drive from neutral, you stick it in first and when you rev, the centrifugal bites and you set off, the motorcycle one is operated by the gear lever, so the first part of the lever's movement is operating the clutch. Your fault seems like a stuck centrifugal. However full autos use a constantly variable belt drive, some still have the centrifugal for start off, but on some the belt gets so slack on idle that it slips, so doesn't need a clutch at all, which is why the constantly variable type pulleys are often called the "clutches." Some Honda Cub clone engines use a different automatic transmission system altogether, never found out how it works.
