Bias ply vs Radial
Radials will give you a way better ride....all other things being equal!
I bought a set of Maxxis iRazr radials for my big sport quads, and they gave a great ride (they especially contribute to the suspension), but I didn't like the rear tread pattern (absolutely terrible traction!) so I went back to my old standby bias ply ITP Holeshot XC's.
I put ITP TrakStar radials on my kids 250's, and the difference was dramatic. Really improved the handling!

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Wondering about Pros and cons of each and are radials worth X2 the price </end quote></div>
Do you work for someone's election campain ?
Radials are generally not 2X the price. Looking at the cheapest bias ply to most expensive radial they are, but that is not a fair comparison. Bridgestone Mud Hooks (bias ply) or Goodyear Mud Runners are more expensive than many radial tires. Terracross are the hot new radial and they are asking top dollar, but if you look for the Carlisle ACT or Kenda Bounty Hunter, they are less than $20 a tire difference to most popular bias ply tires (like a Mud Lite or Swamp Lite). See the comparison below.
<u>Bias Ply</u>
Swamp Lite 25-8-12 $53.95
ITP Mud Lite 25-8-12 AT $55.95
Bridgestone Mud Hook XXtreme 25-8-12 $89.95
Gdy Mud Runner 25-8-12 $92.95
<u>Radial</u>
Carlisle ACT X/Lr Radial 25-8-12 $69.95
Maxxis Mud Bug (or Big Horn) Radial 25-8-12 $82.95
see, you can get a radial that is competively priced. Not much to pay for a better tire.
Without going into too many details (such as bigger footprint, better ride, lighter weight) there are reasons 100% of new cars have radials.
There are plenty of good articles on the web comparing the two types.

Bias ply vs Radial
Thanks Guys
In my area they don't offer much for Radial(only XTR's). I had my mind made up for some Mudbugs but then was reading about the radials and wonder if thay would be that much better. By the way here they want about $450 for a set of 26" Mudbugs and $550 for the XTR's. I guess I was a little off befor I was looking at tire rim combo's and the XTR was $900 with some SS rims and the mudbugs with delta rime are 550
Thanks for the info

I have a set of ITP Holeshot ATR radials. They are the same casing as the Terracross, but with a different tread pattern. Have to say they really imporve the ride, but I do pick up some bump steer and weird things like that (perhaps more related to the rims than tires), so I just use them when in the snow these days.
