It's not the oil companies....

Gas companies make approximately 10-12 cents per gallon. If they sell more gallons of fuel they make more money. What really drives up the cost of gas is simply speculation which is how fuel commodities are purchased. What will the market and supply be in 6 months from now. If the buyers/sellers think demand will be high and supply low the prices go up.

oil is a commodity like lobster, shrimp, and fresh fish on the bay. go price that as opposed to a restaurant. And another thing, why bash big oil? i mean walmart and pharmaceuticals make more than big oil...even the bottled water companies make more than "big oil". yeah, go figure that! people who buy bottled water from a convenience store or wherever give an average of $10 PER GALLON..and those are the same folks griping about $3 gas. wow, such hypocrisy. BUT, folks don't buy that water at 30-40 gallons a pop either whereas fuel, we do. but a lot of work can get done out of 1 gallon of fuel. think about it.
