Now My ABS light on my Van comes on some days and some days not. The Brake Pads and lines are all good the brake fluid is up with no leaks and the van stops on a dime. I,m not even bring it in to get looked at this time.

Sometime black tape over the warning light is the answer.

Sometimes the warning lights tell you that something else is going wrong. I just had my ABS light come on last month on my truck. Took it to the dealer to be plugged into their diagnostic system. The check came back that it was the rear ABS sensor had gone bad. I crawled back there and took it out and found that it had completely exploded. But it wasn't the sensor's fault. What had actually happened was the clutch plates in my limited slip differential had broke and the spider gears turned them into mulch which in turn, took out my sensor. A few more miles down the road and the whole diff blew up. Luckily, I knew it was coming so I was already on the way to the driveline shop and about a block away. Limped into the garage. Glad I wasn't up on the mountain or in the desert when that light went on!

I had a check engine light come on in my 10' ford flex when we were in Vegas, since I was a 24 hour drive away from home I got it looked at before we left, they dinged me $110.00 to tell me that the seal around the capless gas filler was bad but they didn't have the part in stock to fix it which was another $350.00, for a damn seal, how bout put a normal gas cap on it? have we gotten that lazy that we can't take a gas cap off to fill up?

So I drove home with the damn light on that was driving me crazy, put tape over it and my wallet in front of it, booked it in at the local ford dealer to get fixed when I got home, they couldn't get it in till the next week and 2 days after we got home the light went out, I cancelled the appointment and the light is still out 7 months later, makes me wonder why the light was really on?

My 07' Volvo hwy tractor is even worse, sensor for everything, if the over flow bucket for the anti-freeze drops any it will give a shut down warning and you have 10 seconds to get the truck pulled over before it just shuts down, doesn't matter if your in a construction zone or whatever, it just turns off and you have to get the truck stopped and add to it, same goes for oil level but that one has never shut me down as I always catch it before it happens.
