I think maybe your confused. Do you mean shaft drive vs. chain drive? Belts will be something that deals with most automatic 4x4's these days.

you're confused...


drivetrain = shaft drive vs. chain & sprocket drive

transmission = cvt belt (auto) vs. clutch (manual)

most (not all) sport quads are manual with chain & sprocket.

all utility atv's (like honda foreman) and sport utility atv's (like can-am renegade / outlander) are shaft drives.
most utilities are cvt's (honda is the exception)

there is no "better" or "worse". All depends what you're looking to get from your ride and how you ride it.

oh okay, thanks, i think i was thinking motorycycles. Some bikes are driven by belts, others chains, some older ones shaft driven.

You never specified atv or bike so, people will just assume atv.
