can am renegade 500 vs polaris sportsman 550 eps
Hey guys ive been looking at two good quads and was just wondering what you think about them and which one would be better. I will ride mostly on trails, mud, some rocks and hills. So which one do you think is better the CAN AM RENEGADE 500 or the POLARIS SPORTSMAN 550 EPS

these two atv's are worlds apart- a more likely comparison would be the polaris 550 and the outlander 650.
asking if the renegade is better than the xp550 is akin to asking if one likes oranges more than corn chowder.
you can put racks on a renegade- but why bother just buy the outlander.

The better comparison would be between the Polaris Sportsman 550 EPS and the Can-Am Outlander 500 with DPS. They are very closely matched power-wise, both are available with power steering, and have racks and good on board storage. I'd give the nod to the Polaris for riding comfort and a slight nod to the Outlander for HP to weight ratio.
The Renegade (until the Scrambler 850 comes out) is pretty much king of the sportier side of sport utilities. The 500 runs circles around the Scrambler 500 and Yamaha Wolverine 450, gets great gas mileage and handles like a lighter sport quad in many ways. You CAN get front and rear racks for a Renegade but as you add weight it becomes less sporty.
All these quads have 4wd and a high and low range so they are all good in the mud, snow, hill climbs, etc.
The best thing to do, if you can, is test ride all of them and see which will fit your wants and needs best.
