If you look at the photo there is another little 2 wire plug in addition to the plug at the winch. Any idea what it’s for?

If you read the description , this switch is for installations with the solenoid mounted by the winch , the two wire plug brings 12 + to the in/out switch { red wire } 12 - { black wire } to the solenoid coils .
Is this what you ordered ?

You will need to cut the 2 prong connector off the new switch harness and splice the 2 wires together , the black lead will go to 12+ [ same as blue wire on old switch ] , the other 2 wires will go to the small green & black wires on the solenoid .

If the in/out is backwards reverse the small wires going to the green & black wires on the solenoid .
