Default Need help with electrical issue -

Hey. I have a 2002 Polaris Trail Boss 325. It will start up fine when I pull the rope start. However, when I try to start it with the key, I just get a single "click" noise from the solenoid area. I have just replaced the battery (and even took it back to have them perform a load test and everything is fine. Some of the wires had some corrosion but I took a wire brush to them and cleaned them up pretty well. I have a multimeter (not very familiar with using it though) but have not yet checked the starter or solenoid. I have lights when I turn the key to on. Should I try tapping the starter as I turn the key to see if the brushes are stuck? Should I try to test the solenoid? If so, how should I do so? Should I just replace the solenoid? Is there anything else that I should try? Should I replace the ground wire? If so, how and where does the cable go? Also, I have already checked the 20A fuse that is just before the battery (sealed in a black bag) and it seems to be fine. Any DETAILED information would be greatly appreciated!

Use an old screw driver to jump the solenoid posts to see if the starter spins. If it does that eliminates it being the starter. Just make sure you loosen the solenoid nuts and starter nut and wiggle around and tighten.Same thing on the solenoid secured to the battery box.Has to be grounded,no corrosion or the solenoid can just click also. Test light or meter red lead to starter when you hit the start button. If it doesn't have power more then likely a new solenoid is needed.
