All you have to do is take me to the KENTUCKY DUNES!
If you ain't got sand, you got $hit.
AZ and California are the only places that have it all. You ever ridden on an extinct volcano?

I was just at LBL last week. Turkey Bay is boring at best. I've got more sand in my sneakers. I'm not sure where Livingston is, unless you mean Livingston County. Most of my family is from western KY [from Henderson to Paducah]and I have ridden with them along the Ohio River many times. Sand bars are not dunes. Sorry.
Badlands in Attica is OK for a day [I'm from Indiana originally]. The sand track back in the woods is pretty cool.
The land that is legal to ride on in AZ is larger than the entire state of KY.

Alright if you wanna here the grossest accident listen to this one. Some kid in my town with a cr250 hit a jump and in mid air he relized that he was gonna case it so he ditched the bike of to the side. when he landed, he landed right on the handlebar and it went up his butt like 8 inches. He snapped the clutch lever off with his butt cheek. EH needed stitches and needed to crap in bags for weeks.

A. Riding 2-up
B. Riding without a helmet
C. Riding a quad that's too big.
Where are the parents in all this? They need to be responsible. Those kinds of statements (truthful as they probably are) make us ALL look bad.

I didn't read through the several pages on this thread but I did read a few here and there. Don't you think that the CPSC would be interested in all of these stories? (Little ammo against atv's) Just a thought.

Four years ago on my wife's birthday I was drag racing at Silver Lake MI. I lofted the front end to clear some rough ruts in fith gear pinned. When the front end came down it felt like I had hit a hole. I rember looking down to see what it was I had hit. Bystanders said I and my ride just began to cartwheel. I distinctly remember the first impact with Mother Earth... I hit the right lower back and buttock. The second impact I hit my upper back and neck biteing my tounge and knocking the wind out of me. The third, I landed face down as if sleeping on your stomach. A cold hand came up the back of my shirt all the way to my neck and I heard a female voice state, "I don't feel anything sticking out."
I was transported to a local hospital on a spine trauma board with my neck in a collar and my head/body strapped. I was x-rayed and told I had a sprain/strain of my back. I asked the attending doctor to see my films. (I am a doctor myself) I clearly noted a compression fracture of my back. Had I not looked down to see what I hit, I would be on the wrong side of the grass. During the accident I also damaged several nerves in my lower back causing a permanent loss of feeling of my inner calf.
What happened to cause this... the lower ball joint seperated. If you have never checked your ball joints, or are unsure how, or know that they are bad but ride on them anyway.....BEWARE!!

WOW This is a long thread!
A year ago I was riding two wheelers with my 14 y\o and we were doing about 70 on straight trail when his front wheel locked up on his new RM 125. I saw him fly through the air in the corner of my eye.
I stopped and looked behimd me and saw him but no bike... ?? when I got to him he was unconsious and bleeding from the mouth, nose and EYE. EMS had a real hard time getting to him but they managed to drive right up the trail.
He spent 3 weeks in ICU with head trauma, internal bleeding, four compression fractures in his back, a fractured eye socket, three broken ribs, ruptured adrenal gland, broken nose, broken wrist, and a coulpe cracked teeth.
As for the bike, we later found it about 100 feet from where he landed in a very large ditch. 1 yr. later he was timidly back on two wheels, but mostly rides quads now. He WAS wearing full gear and has a HJC cracked helmet as a souvineer.
