You can get a 400ex for $4,500 OTD at Ridersville Cycle in Berkley Springs. I am sure the 300ex would be lower than this but you would have to call them yourself. You can do a dealer locator on Honda's website or call information for the number.

About the tire comment. It does come with 22 inch stock baloon tires that are really bad. I put 20 inchers on and it made an amazing difference. Since they are wider and lower you get a lower center of gravity which provides more stabilty. Before, with the stock tires, i could rarely pull donuts of in dirt but only in sand. And now, i can do them on dirt good. Another thing is that it gives you a lot more low end but it does take off some top end. I really don't mind that few mile an hour sacrifice though for the inrease in low end.

it is a good trail quad and it goes around 54 stock. it is a good begginer bike but I sure as hell wouldn't spend 4200 for one.

 

300ex is a great bike that is super reliable

I wouldnt pay over $3000 for a 300ex.
I can buy them all day long in Southern California for under $3000. I paid $3000 for my wifes 97 300ex 2 years ago.

And yes, they are really good quads and with a pipe, K&N and proper jetting, they can go pretty fast.

My 250x has beat many hopped up 300ex's and stock 400ex's in the drags and on the track. The bigger quads do have more potential except for the 300ex. If you like these then get a 250x for half the price and use the money you saved to fix it up. they are identical except for the no-fun electric start and a bigger bore. I have a 300ex top end on my 250x and it bolted right up. i also have many other 300ex parts on my quad.
